All of this reminds me of a situation in high school, back in the mid-40s.

Tight sweaters were "in", and didn't the boys appreciate!

A guy I knew walked up to Susy-Jane (a spectacular young lady in a sweater designed to exhibit her to best effect), and asked, "Where do you get those sweaters with the bumps in them?"

With never a breath's pause or a bat of an eye, she said, "Same place you buy those pants with the gear shift!"
