I have decided to come over to the UK for a week to ten days in September. I am going to be doing a spot at Breezy's folk club on the weekend of 23/24 and will be looking for dates in the days either preceding or following that. I may even be able to come with my harmony trio, Alan's Abits. Markus and Thomas are nice men and fine singers and players.
I am interested in chances to showcase what I do. I play acoustic guitar and sing songs in different styles. There is always a fair bit of singalong and humour in my set. It is a long way from Germany, so I would like to be able to recover some of my expenses, but obviously, I do not expect to immediately pick up paid work at the level which I have done over here. The attraction is more to be able to do what I love and to sing in English to an audience which can understand everything I do. Unfortunatley, the only one of you to see me at work so far has been MC Fat, back last autumn. The gig went well, but he was probably baffled by some of it, as I was working in German!
I would be interested in showcasing at folk clubs, but by no means does it have to be a folk club. Anywhere where I have a reasonable chance of getting my music across is interesting for me (and the Abits). Please PM me or offer any information or advice you have to this thread. I am really looking forward to meeting some of you.
