WC Fields (I think this is a tale, but a good one) was on his death bed. He said, "When I look back at my life, Lionel, I see I have done many things wrong. I hated dogs and I shouldn't have. I hated old people and I shouldn't have. I hated children and I shouldn't have. And for that I am terribly sorry." Fields then lapsed into seeming unconsciousness and his breathing began to slow. His chest fell. Lionel got up and walked away to inform people that the great comedian had passed on. As he was reaching for the door knob he heard a noise behind him. He turned. Fields was upright in the bed. Fields looked at Lionel Barrymore and drawled, "On second thought, Lionel, fuck 'em!" Then he died.
