The 30 year old book "Hard Hit Songs for Hard Hit People" has been just republished as a soft back. Lomax, Guthrie, Seeger, Silber, Steinbeck: those names are enough to make it worth buying. This is the only collection I've come across where I don't know 90% of the songs already. Well worth a look at, if only for the photographs. Dr John
