Yes, and such revising and re-interpreting of the Bible, and more important than that, of Jesus' own life and teachings before the New Testament was written have been happening ever since very shortly after he was crucified. This is a tangled tale of revision, censorship on top of revision, and propaganda on top of propaganda that has been spinning itself out now for about 2,000 years...mostly for the sake of empowering various churches rather than freeing human souls.

If anyone was to be termed the "AntiChrist" it would seem to me that the most powerful "Christian" churches themselves ARE the most likely candidates for the title.

As for the "end signs", there have been many successive generations of Christians who fervently believed that those end signs were being played out in the political and social events of their time. There is nothing new about that at all. EVERYBODY figures the prophecies will be fulfilled in their own historical time. Talk to someone in the 1800's, and it would be the same story, I assure you. And it would all appear to fit perfectly, as they told it.

But...each new generation figures that THEY have figured it out, and it's in their time. That figures. People just can't believe they're not living in the most important and climactic epoch of human existence....the moment when the story wraps up and has its penultimate climax.

After all, that's what they see on TV, isn't it? This has been going on for fifty or more generations, and it will be going on long after we and this forum have passed way beyond memory.
