By way of clarification, the Alabama Department of Huntin' an' Fishin' has released a statement to the effect that the Snark-hunting ban should not be construed as a ban on hunting the closely related Boojum. The statement says, in part, "Boojums is mean-assed critters an' ya kin hunt them sumbitches wid whutever ya want. Dawgs iz good. Gators iz better. Fully-automatic rifles, portable rocket launchers, an' dynamite-filled booby-traps iz even better. An 'em folks whut likes t' hunt Snark wif them li'l bitty dawgs like Cheewawas an' such orta jus' leave them li'l guys at home 'cause a Boojum'll be eatin' a cuppla them fer breckfust."
