I admit it! This is another damned derivative thread! It's the bastard child of "Fun With Flash!" which I haven't even looked at, figuring that it's gotta be about Flash Animation sites and I'm on a sloooowwww dial-up connection that's not very Flash-friendly.

But, in fact, I do have fun with flush! You see, I have a composting toilet. You don't flush it. Every few trips you turn the little handle and rotate the drum to mix everything together. Then, about once a month, you dump some of it out and put it on the flowers.

Anyway, I sorta miss flushing. Every time I go into town I try to visit a restroom or two so I can flush. And I'm always amazed at the different mechanisms for flush-activation. I met a urinal today that has a botton on top of the flush valve. Never seen that before. And electric-eye-activated units must be getting dirt cheap 'cause everybody's got 'em.

And there's just something pleasing about that "whooooosh" sound. It's like the machine's tellin' ya, "Job well done! Now get outta the way 'cause the person behind you's gotta go pretty badly!"

No, I don't miss the sound enough to go through all the trouble and expense of installing a septic system and a buncha new plumbing just to hear it regularly. The composter works just fine for the two of us, thank you very much. But perhaps some of you regular flushers out there could give old Johnny a flush for me every now and then. Just push the lever down and say, "This one's for Bee-dubya."
