You will never convince me that the last lines of this song were not changed by 'the church' It is a beautifully 'old faith' song. "of all the trees that are in the wood, the holly bears the crown. (Does the term 'Holly King' come to mind? The rising of the sun,the running of the deer -- then the playing of the merry organ and singing in the choir? (In my questionable opinion, this last doesn't fit with the entire rest of the song). Anyone know of a way to research REALLY OLD music?
