There is a wonderful book called 'The Discovery of Chocolate' by James Runcie - published by HarperCollins.

It's fiction but has some wonderful old chocolate recipes in it... including mole (pronounced mol-ey), some great 'meetings' with various chocolate magnates and one Godawful pun that's worth the whole book!
