Subject: RE: BS: The Anti-Christ Is Here Now!
If one is anti-the Anti-Christ, does it follow that that person is pro-Christ? Or vice versa?

The notion of an Anti-Christ is a fire and brimstone sermon
that is meant to scare non-believers into a kind of submission
to Christian religious ideas.

How do people know that the Anti-Christ is here now? I think it's more that it's the "belief that A-C is here without being able to offer any material proof. Maybe they have seem him in their dreams. In that case, maybe those dreams are real for the people who think he exists. "I believe, therefore I am" to misquote Des Cartes.

I wonder really, though, what the point of offering this warning is all about? Maybe it's a variant on the theme of the existence of WMD's in Iraq? Maybe it's to shock or shake people into doing something or other? Maybe it's a condemnation of others kinda' like saying "if you don't watch out, the Boogeyman will get you."

The notion has nothing whatever to do with the teachings or principles by Jesus. So what's the point?
