But is it in fcat a mistake?
I put "capitalicy" in google, and up came a blog with this paragraph:
We're no longer a democracy. I hate to say so, but more and more I begin to see it as such. We have become, are becoming, a capitalicy. A society where those in power are those who can afford to be there, not those who can do the most good. A society where money buys position, instead of the position being filled by the best person for the job.
I think that sums up what Bush is trying to push on the world.
I remember when the line we were always being sold during the Cold War was that the quarrel with the USSR was not about their economic systems or anything like that, it was about the fact that was a repressive society. The implication was that, without the repression, there would be no quarrel with "socialism with a human face", if that was what people wished.
But the reality has been very different. All the stops were pulled out to ensure that that would not be allowed to develop. So instead we get repression and corruption, but with a capitalist face - and that is fine by our leaders.
