Okay. So I've had voice lessons from a retired operatic soprano and one of my favorite singers is Richard Dyer-Bennet, whose light tenor and classical approach turns a lotta people off. . . .

I nominate Dave Van Ronk. Voice like a rusty hinge and every time I listened to him, I felt like I needed to clear my throat. But wow, could he put a song across!!
