Cologne has had a couple of dustings, but we haven't seen real snow here since the mid eighties. The temperature has stayed just around freezing point for a couple of weeks now. We got enough snow one evening last week, that I took two excited kids outside to spend half an our looking at the stuff from close up. It was mainly gone the next morning. You can see snow in Germany, but usually you would have to go to special places like the Harz Mountains, Bavaria, parts of Baden Würtmeburg, the Eifel and to some extent Bergisches Land (to the East of Cologne). Snow is a rare visitor to most of the rest of us. Mind you, the forecast says that it will be cold over this weekend. So I may be able to report a rare happening in the near future!
