Subject: BS: Syria is in big trouble
I'm trying to get a handle on what is happening in Lebanon. Seems that the Syrian govt. has finally withdrawn and handed over Sadaam's half brother as a peace offerring to the U.S. Looks to me that Syria's only friend is Iran (and then only slightly so) and that Syria harbours terrorist organizations that are funded by Iran.

While I sympathize with the people of the Middle East who want self determination and resist U.S. and Israeli involvement in their internal affairs, it appears that nobody really supports the Syrian govt.

I will not be surprised if Syria is next on the Bush 'hit list'. The question is whether he will go it alone or seek the support of the U.N. I think in this instance, he might actually be given some support. Syria has been the 'bad guy' for a long time.

Can anybody tell me anything good about Syria?

Is it possible for the U.N. to negotiate with Syria or will it be another blood bath?
