As usual, things aren't as simple as the Bushites may think. They may be patting themselves on the back as pushing for democracy in the Mideast, which according to this theory leant strength to the movement to remove Syrian influence from Lebanon. However, only "modified rapture" is called for. According to the Wall St Journal yesterday, in a big article on Lebanese developments:

1) One of the main Lebanese opposition figures, Walid Jumblatt, head of the Druze, a key sect, has been quoted as saying, when a rocket hit the hotel where Paul Wolfowitz was staying, that it was too bad Wolfowitz escaped.

2) Just about all the Lebanese opposition feels that a Lebanon free of Syrian influence would have to acknowledge an important role for Hezbollah in the Lebanese government.
