Boab - You are absolutely right! Thats why I said that Iran was only slightly a friend. I guess that Sunnis and Shiites will unite when threatened by an outside force. In the case of Lebannon, it is anybodies guess. I do know that Syria feels very threatened by the U.S. and Israel and has for a long time. Seems to me that their national identity is based on opposition to Israel.

Interesting how the media makes the demonstrations in Lebanon seem like a national uprising when, in fact, it is a small, right wing minority that are being so vocal. Makes you wonder how much the U.S. and Israel have to do with the current tension.
