I do take your point that demonstrations [at national level at least] are ALWAYS carried through by 'minorities', but in pointing to the relative attendances in Lebanon,I am simply suggesting that the prevailing opinions could well be far different from those assumed ---or hoped for---by the powers which would prefer[ for their own ends]that Syria and Lebanon be as separate from each other as possible."Minority" demonstrations of the type you highlight were carried out in the U.K. prior to the assault on Iraq. These were absolutely indicative of the MAJORITY opinion of the populace. There were no demonstrations in favour of an opposing view. Bearded Bruce; there seems to be something implied by your question. It has a challenge of some sort behind it. Would YOU care to comment?
