Subject: RE: BS: Big Mick/St. Pat's Grand Marshall
Hi folks. I am in a bit of a fog. My flight got delayed due to weather, and I ended up arriving home at 1:30 AM or so, and home in bed at 2:00. I was up at 6:00 in order to be at the Grand Marshall's breakfast. Then on to the parade. It was a nice mile and a half walk with a little snow falling. PoppaG, I don't want to hear a word!!! Even with the weather, there was a very nice contingent of folks. At Calder Plaza we raised the flag, and had the local politico's presented the proclamations from the City and the Governor. A wonderful surprise was that my daughter and another girl did a very special step dance for their Dad's. What made it special is that the girls were dancing for their Daddy's who can't be there. Ciara because I am working in New Jersey, and Casey because her Daddy just passed a little over a week ago. I was affected deeply to say the least.

Due to the weather they asked that I keep my comments down to an hour or so (LOL). I told them I could barely say hello in an hour. Seriously, I did what I wanted to do I took the microphone, sat on the edge of the stage, called the kids up, and told them stories about good St. Pat. While most of the kids were of Irish descent, there were others who were not. I told them that no matter what part of the world their people came from, they had stories such as these. I then said a few words of thanks, and off we went.

I then began the round of gigs for the day. I played steadily until the early morning and fell into bed this morning at 4:00 AM. I am getting to old for this shite..... hahahaha. We are playing all week long, and St. Pat's day will start very early for us and end very late.

I'm sorry if this seems a bit disjointed but I am still pretty beat.

All the best,

Mick
