I ask you to forgive me for my greed
In wanting your attention. I would take
All you might give, and more. Season dreams wake,
And I find in my longing I would plead
For all of you: Yet, should I let my need
Consume all sense? I would rather you stay
As muse, and distant, than risk that you say
I am a bother, and not sonnets read.
What can I ask of you, that you'd reply
With words to feed my heart? How can I dare
To seek for passion, when I do not know
What you would want of me? How can I try
To give my heart, when you already care
For someone near? Should I my envy show?
