The shopkeeper interests on the town council have always been against too many (or any!) 'outsider' food, drink and icecream stalls because they take business away from town shops. I don't know of any specific decisions yet but there have been rumours of a clampdown on temporary food outlets as well as on hair wraps and bead sellers along the Esplanade. It has been a source of friction for years.
