I seee poeple are fighting a bit shy of answering Q3 in detail(the one about English/Irish origins of certain instruments). The correct answer, I submit is: (a) there is no evidence that any of them are of Irish origin. (b)There is no evidence whatsoever that any of them are of English origin. Anybody who claims otherwise is suffering from chauvinistic wishful thinking(or patriotism as it is occasionally called).
