Well, speaking as a big fan of the Big Easy, I normally wouldn't choose to disagree with Mardi Gras royalty, especially one who's posts I routinely enjoy, but I gotta think that you're mistaken on this one PoppaGator.

Major League Baseball fans have suffered through 8 work stoppages since 1972 (basically every time the collective bargaining agreement was about to expire). Without question, the stoppages of 1973,1976 and 1990 were lockouts, but the remaining five, in 1972, 1980, 1981, 1985 and 1994 would be hard to define as anything but strikes.
Your perception of the 94-5 fiasco as a lock out rather than a strike is in conflict with the published accounts of it found in virtually every print media outlet, from the mainstream periodicals and newspapers to articles in the Monthly Labor Review and the NLRB. All label 1994-5 as a strike.

You sure your not thinking of the NHL in 1994?
