Jack Schafer at Slate notes that the big media conglomerates are breaking up as fast as they can, all that concentration for synergy propaganda dissipating. It appears that the main reason is the market: people are, for example, turning off those dreary packaged radio stations in favour of the Internet and other music media.   It turns out that there are lots of other things to do with your time and money! Some good news for a change.
