The reason your experiment wouldn't work, Tarheel, is because Mexico and the United States are very different.

We chose to build the United States on more humanitarian principles than those who built Mexico did. That's why people stay up all night figuring out how to get here.

So what is your point? That we should go from "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you" to "Do unto others according to the lowest they do unto you"??
