I don't have any definitions of folk art that I can share, but I beleive in the philosophy that art should be more than for arts's sake.

In my opinion, art should be of the people & for the people.
Art should inspire, motivate, teach, correct, reinforce values and principles , comfort, energize-and yes, entertain ..

of course not all at the same time :O)

I'm wondering if I might expand the conversation you started to ask you and others to share not only the definitions of art, but what the purpose of art is or should be.
