And thanks to Tom and Linn for hosting this concert at the Press Room, doing the publicity and otherwise spreading the word. And thanks to the Press Room staff for all their support.

I've listened to Bob Zentz's recordings for years butI hadn't heard him sing any of his C. Fox Smith musical arrangements of her wonderful nautical poems, and as expected he does a great job. The upstairs room at The Press Room was well attended and I can't think of a better way to spend a sunday afternoon. And with such good company!

From "Happy New Year, Says Ginger" to the WW I update of "Leave Her, Johnny, Leave Her", from the leaving and return to the "Portsmouth Road", or "Why Did I Dream of the Ship Ledore?", with a cast of old shellbacks such as Murphy and Bill, Bob Zentz brought to life the age of sail. I'd like to think that Cicely Fox Smith would have been pleased and somewhat amused.

Sure, let's plan a CD "launching" party for Bob when his C. Fox Smith renditions are finally ready to set sail.

It's amazing how a good tune can bring these poems back to life!

Cheerily,
Charley Noble
