FWIW it is a great (well, not uncommon) American tradition to appropriate where possible. Ask the Indians. Ask Charles Dickens and Gilbert & Sullivan. Or ask Microsoft and the DVD makers whose stuff is pirated and available on the streets of Shanghai no later than the legitimate versions on the streets of Hollywood.

So it is now a great Chinese tradition.

One aspect of the law is that it must be enforceable. Laws that can't be enforced become ridiculous in no time.

So it is time to examine what in the digital age constitutes ownership and legitimate use.

So pay the poor guy already!
