I just got off the phone with my best friend here in town. One of her son's soccer/skateboarding pals went home after school yesterday and shot himself to death. He was in 6th grade, 12 years old.

While I feel confident of her sources, I do not want to put particulars in here until we know for sure. It doesn't really matter at the moment, though. I just know there is a family and there will be many, many children in a great deal of pain and would ask you all to hold them in your thoughts for a day or two.

Thank you so much; there is so much pain when something like this happens, so little understanding of why, that tears cannot wash away.
