Sometimes I learn more about a person through the obituaries than I would have known otherwise.

As for pet obituaries, why should folks NOT post about their loss? Pets are often times very loved members of the family. If one of my 4-legged children were to die, I'd post it here....even if it were just for myself and the chance to vent to the world.
