Bob ... Thank you for starting this thread. I can't help you much as I never met him personally, but I certainly listened to his early record.

I suspect that we are of somewhat the same vintage, but I am not accusing you of being as old as I. I do think that it's so very important that those of us that have survived the earlier years of the fourties and fiftes and sixties, re-visit those earlier times and attempt to "fill in the cracks", if you will will.
