Sonnet 07/06/04                            CMXVI

To see my muse removes clouds from my sky,
And fills my heart with longing. Is her glance
For my soft words, or does the reason why
She gives me smile reflect a longed-for chance?
To read words from my muse gives me a touch
Of what she thinks, and how she views this plane.
I want far more: I want to know how much
My verse might reach to soul, to hopes explain.
To hold her in arms would be to hold all
That dream might find in vision of desires.
How can I hoped for care less than love call
When she is source of dreams that hope inspires?
I worry about muse, because I fear
I cannot hold angel forever here.
