Just got home from the hospital after visiting Ryan. He did have the testicle removed. There is apparently no sign of cancer. (Whew!!!!!!) He is doped up, but in good spirits. He might be discharged tomorrow, if the fever responds to the antibiotics. It's gone from 103 down to 101, so the signs are encouraging. As background, he is about to turn 13. The doctor told him there won't be any effect on his development or function. Now, our only concern is about the psychological impact at this age. One of Bonnie's brothers was born with only one testicle and sired 3 kids, all boys. We figure he would be a perfect one to reassure Ryan.
Bonnie and I are hanging in there, as are the rest of the family. We thank you for your support and will keep you posted on his recovery.
In awe at the love here,
Jeffp
