Thread Name: The George W. Bush Thread.
Subject: RE: The George W. Bush Thread.
Now, Bobert...judge not, lest ye shall be judged. ;-)

Disagree with the man's actions by all means, but have caution about denigrating the man. Most people, George Bush included, do what they think is right at the time from their own perspective, and they all have their own very good reasons for it. They may be crazy in your terms or mine, but they do feel justified in their decisions and actions.

Fear produces aggression. Extreme fear produces extreme aggression. Hitler, for example, was tremendously fearful of Jews, Commmunists, and anyone he regarded as a threat to "Germany and Western Civilization" (as he saw it). He was in extreme fear largely because of his own youthful experiences in and after WWI, which he blamed on certain symbolic enemies he made up in his own mind. He BELIEVED those enemies were absolutely real. They weren't. His real enemy was his own fear and desire to protect himself against mythical "forces of evil" that he conjured up out of his own fear.

Concentrate on what you love, not what you hate. Hatred is not a useful emotion with which to fuel one's purposes in life. (And yeah, I'm still learning that too...bit by bit.)
