Sonnet 18/07/04                         CMXXII

I see, within my muse's eyes, the stars
To guide my dreams to heaven, and beyond,
To touch her smile. Yet, is distance what bars
My reaching out? Am I of dream too fond?
All I need is to know muse does not mind
My focus upon her, without the right
To fold her in arms, and heart try to bind:
I do not think to muse's desires fight.
I seek, in inspiration, something more
Than just reflection: I hope I will find
A truer vision, that heart might ignore
Life's loneliness, and to sorrows be blind.
No matter what might happen, know I care
For one who holds my heart, and dreams would share.
