"The Vigilante" is another one that is particularly effective. This is saying a lot, considering how good all of those stories are, but it is quite memorable.

I read Travels With Charley many years ago, back when I was travelling around with a pet (cat, in this instance) and a pickup truck. It resonated well for me. But as others have observed, all of his books were good. Deep, and good. I re-read Cannery Row and Sweet Thursday every so often (I get them as books on tape--they're great company on road trips).
