Can't say that I can tell you the theme, though it sounds a bit familiar (played by Ron Rutowski?), but I can give you a bit of news from Evening Shade.

While the school is still open, this year it was consolidated with the Cave City school district just down the road. Governor Huckabee and the legislature in their wisdom have seen fit to close all Arkansas schools with less than 350 students by combining them with nearby "partners", willing or unwilling. What the long term outlook for the school is, I don't know. I guess we'll see in the coming years.

Evening Shade never had a football team, one of the main premises of the TV show, and neither did Cave City for that matter. So the big matchups between the Evening Shade Mules and the Cave City Cavemen had absolutely no basis in fact. Evening Shade's athletic teams are the Tigers; their basketball teams do play in the Burt Reynolds Gymnasium, which was built with donations from Burt and other cast members and the sale of Evening Shade cookbooks.
