I'm proud to say that the Bothy's early days guests included not only Jimmy McBeath, but Davy Stewart, Jeannie Robertson, Fred Jordan, Stan Hugill and Isabel Sutherland amongst other source singers. Besides them, we had the good taste to take a chance on Mr Fox which alienated quite a few people and have always been at the forefront of er, casting our net wide! Cyril Tawney was the first guest ever engaged at the Liverpool branch of Bothy and if he were in good health, he'd surely be part of next week's razzmatazz. Not so Paul Simon though as he'd failed Tony Wilson's strict audition criteria in 1966! We can hardly ask him now -or can we?!
