Sonnet 15/08/04                           CMXXV

Dreams give reason to hope that time will bring
Bright dawn, and heart's desires. Can hope find cause
To stay, when I have heard muse in mind sing,
But know not voice? The years must give me pause,
But I cannot ignore her smile: I feel
I have found one to lend dreams light, and give
My heart it's goal: To find words that might seal
Affection, and show what dream would have live.
Yet, are my dreams to be? Should I now seek
To hold all I have dreamt, when I must fear
I do not know my muse's mind? I try
To earn a smile, but wait for her to speak
Some word of what she feels: I beg to hear
A reason I might to my sweet muse fly.
