"Dandy Jim from Caroline" was written in 1843 by Silas S. Steele and J. Richard Myers.

"Oh beauty is but skin deep,
But wid Miss Dinah none compete;
She changed her name from lubly Dine
To Mrs. Dandy Jim of Caroline."

(And there is the more modern relative, "You ain't nothin' but a houn' dog")
