Of course they don't have to do that now - at least not here in Oz, where everything is rounded up or down by 5c. So if something costs $9.99, you pay $10 anyway.

I have noticed certain numbers recurring in the street numbers I have lived at. I have lived at 22 different addresses in my life, with a preponderance of ones, threes, fours and nines - I have never had a zero, a five, a six or an eight in any of the places I have lived, and have only in the last 5 years had any twos. The last place I lived was no. 92, and I moved to no. 29 a couple of years ago.

In spite of the lack of eights, I consider that to be a lucky number for me too, Azizi - I don't know why.
