I wear a gold chain bought for over $1000 when I was broke and depressed over the theft of all my family jewelry. It took almost a year before I could walk by a jewelry store or display without tearing up. Once I let go of the anger and pain I was ready for a new chain.

On it is a crystal given to me by a friend. The only time it was off my neck was during an X-ray and surgery and once when the chain broke.
