There's a William Cook in Randolph, Ozark Folk Songs vol 4 40-41, starting "Hark hark my young friends it's a melancholy call", with tune. The Roud Folk Song Index lists this at number 3128, along with a text in Parler, Arkansas Ballad Book p.55 and an audio file at the Library of Congress.
