Whwereas Pelosi, as well as many other representatives in both parties probably have their hands in ti cookie jar, the reason that the Dems aren't happy with the rule change is that it does very much allow a party to protect one of it's own should they desire to do so.
And this is wrong... Why shouldn't every crook in congress be accountable? Now I understand that you don't want congess turmned into a witchhunt battleground but the Republican rule change went way too far. Why have an wthics committe if it is 100% toothless?

Now as fir crooks? DeLay has a lot of real serious evidence mounting against him. Just proclaiming his innocence doesn't mean he didn't do a lot of the dumbass things he has been accused of...
