I fail to understand why anyone finds excuses for thieves. Washington, Ottawa, London--there could be a looooong list here--are so damned filled with graft and corruption that Rapaire's remark is a good one, even if only in one's dreams. There are more crooked bastards in politics than any other occupation, and until there is a very thorough house cleaning it will continue. This filth continues to profit from their theft. I too would like to swipe a few millions, pay some lawyers half to keep the trial going until I am dead. Or simply invest the cash in some scheme where it's easy to hide (launder) money and live off some consulting fees. Yep. The future would look real rosy.
