Cyril's excellent songs will be sung with affection by singers everywhere. Many of his songs have been embraced seamlessly into the tradition and this is the mark of Cyril's strenght as a songwriter. But outside his musical and poetic ability, Cyril was a wonderful man, his humility, his warmth, his friendliness and his wonderful sense of humour marked him out as an exceptional person. He will be sorely missed among his family, his friends and his many, many admirers. So long Cyril, I will sing a song for you and Rosemary tonight and I will drink a long toast to your memory
