BillD, I agree--the woman is attractive but that "suit" is just as odd as can be. Clearly a pastische of green vinyl plastic straps. I think the object is to reveal as much as possible while being able to claim the creation of a "one-piece" suit (other than simply putting a belt around her waist and calling it a one-piece suit).

However, do you remember what a sensation this little number was in 1964 when Rudi Gernreich designed his topless swim suit? I bet your family, like ours, ended up with a copy of that Life magazine lying around the house! The Met in New York has an exhibit.

BTW--that sexy modern topless number was made of wool and elastic. It would feel and smell SO GOOD [not!] if it ever got wet!
