On a miniscule scale, when my dad died I sold his Boston whaler and motor. There were several interested parties, but the one I choose to sell to was not the young guy who was talking about the nautical equivalent of doing donuts in the parking lot. I sold it to the guy whose own boat had been stolen, and who wanted one to take his wife fishing in.
