Hahah! I was doing fieldwork in Libya with Nick Brooks (spokesperson for scenario number 1) at Christmas. His point on global warming is a nice one I hadn't considered before: previous climate fluctuations resulted in migration and movement to upland areas, etc. These days, migration is pretty damn difficult when there are people with big guns on the borders.
