I myself have only memorized pi to 3.14159265. This is easy to remember, since you have 14159265 -- or the year Columbus bumped into the American continents alternating with the year Mary Queen of Scots married Henry Darnley (who she later had exploded) and Billy Bob Shakespeare was one year old.

This shows that the fusion of all human endeavor is in contained in pi, if we could but understand it.

Also, both Texas and Indiana have tried to legislate the value of pi as 3.0000.... In Indiana, math profs from Indiana University and Purdue pointed out that to do so would make the state a laughing stock around the world and the attempt failed. Texas, on the other hand, gave the world GW Bush.
