Sonnet 16/10/04                           CMXLI

I'm drunk, on dreams of muse: I cannot keep
From dreaming more. In vision she is guide,
To lead my thoughts out of the past. I weep
To have the chance to let sweet hopes abide.
Tears are of joy: In muse I find a light
To show what might yet be. How can I reach
To hold her, though, when dream has not the right
To be as real? Could muse some caution teach?
I know I seek for more than reason gives
A cause: I try, but cannot not muse love.
Still, I do not regret that in dream lives
This passion for one that my heart dreams of.
She is reason enough to sense refuse:
A beautiful woman, and precious muse.
